What is Anxiety Related Disorders?
Definition of Anxiety Related Disorders
Claimants who have a disorder which is characterized by severe obsessions or compulsions may be approved for Social Security Disability benefits if they can prove through medical evidence that their mental health condition is so severe that they are unable to perform substantial gainful activity. Common anxiety related disorders can include: 1) constant panic attacks; 2) irrational fear of a situations or objects; 3) extreme anxiety caused by hypertension or nervous expectations; 4) extreme compulsions or 5) overwhelming anxiety caused by a traumatic experience. Anxiety related disorders may cause a severe limitation in the claimant's 1) daily living; 2) social environments and 3) ability to maintain concentration, persistence, or pace when completing tasks.
