What is Blind Work Expenses (bwe)?

Definition of Blind Work Expenses (bwe)

Claimants who have Social Security Disability blindness may qualify to receive Supplemental Security Income benefits. Supplemental Security Income payments may be reduced by a claimant's income. The Social Security Administration does not count any earned income that a blind claimant uses to meet expenses that are needed to earn that income when deciding their SSI eligibility and their payment amount. Common blind work expenses can include: service animal expenses, attendant care services, visual and sensory aids, Social Security taxes, professional associate fees, etc.
