What is Resources (ssi)?

Definition of Resources (ssi)

Social Security Disability claimants applying for Supplemental Security Income must meet not only income but also resource requirements. Resources are considered anything a claimant owns including: bank accounts, real property personal property and stocks or bonds. Certain resource exemptions are allowed by the Social Security Administration including: a claimant's primary residence, life insurance policies up to $1,500 or less, a car, burial plots for the disability claimant or their immediate family, up to $1,500 in burial funds for the disability claimant and up to $1,500 in burial funds for the claimant's spouse.
